Comments: Hilaire Belloc

Ha. As a struggling poet, I found this very amusing. Although I enjoy e.e. cummings, I nonetheless tend toward rhythmic and metrically orthodox verse myself, complete with (most of the time) rhyme. I was constantly chided for this in college writing courses, until one professor who understood me encouraged me as a rebel.

By the way, thanks for the shout-out over at Tall, Dark, and Mysterious. What a nice surprise!

There's a great book illustrated by Edward Gorey of Belloc's "Cautionary Tales for Children." :)
